There's something about the noble Hare... A perennial favourite with galleries and buyers alike, they were among the first subjects I tackled when I began sculpting in the early Nineties. Their appeal lies in the connections we make between their harsh existence out in the field and the myths we've attributed to them. My studio, atop England's South Downs, is surrounded by gently rolling farmland and Hares often appear in my garden. How could I fail to be inspired?
