'SNOW HARES' was an experiment in texture. I started off with a thick acrylic base coat and scribed into it with an old Dentist's tool, to achieve the coarse etching feel, before adding the hares on top. My original intention was to colour them naturalistically but in the event, I opted to keep them neutral to the surroundings and give way to a more subbed feel & palette (it was also snowing at the time, so inspiration wasn't hard to find).
