It happened out in the field, one sombre Winter morning. A crop of barley had been planted, to be ploughed back in the following Spring. This old Hare had been using it as natural camouflage and thought he was well-hidden! As a result, Gary was able to get VERY close and take the photo that the work is inspired by. So taken by the moment was he, that a poem entitled ‘I Spied a Hare’ was soon forthcoming and we found a way of adding it to the original canvas!
