Running Hare #3

‘RUNNING HARE #3’ is actually the result of a re-painting. Work for long enough as an artist, and you acquire countless unfinished pieces!

This was one of them. However, as soon as I added my ‘tendrils of colour’ to the work, I could see how it might recover. I’m particularly pleased at the subtleties seen in the distant hills and the colour range used on the Hare. This was painted at the same time as ‘Green Valley Trio’ and many similarities can be seen when viewing them side-by-side. There’s a feeling of ‘Van Gogh’ in the work, suggested by the urgent sense of movement. Of life. Both the Hare and the hill over which it runs, share their textures. One is grounded by the other…
