Storm Brewing turned-out to be a highly satisfying work…

The original inspiration for it, came as a result of seeing a lone Hare hunkering-down in the field outside my studio, with a storm ‘brewing’ on the far side of our hill. I was moved by his resilience to the oncoming deluge. In fact, he almost looks indifferent: a marked contrast to how I might approach the same situation!

His feathery-soft brush strokes give a ruffled, blustery texture to the pelt. The perky, upright ears, alert to the coming drama. Moreover, we should talk about the moody background. About the swirling intensities of the blue and how a little dry-brushing at the top corner, gives a sense of sunlight breaking through?
