Serval

For those who don’t know, a Serval is a small wildcat found in the African Veldt. They’re equivalent in size to a Cocker Spaniel, but have the fearless attitude of a Tiger!

As you can see from the painting, Servals have huge ears in proportion to their heads. It’s how they track down unwitting prey. I like to think that’s exactly what my Serval is doing. Padding silently through the bush…

To get the shafts of light into the work, I lowered narrow sheets of paper across the work. Then, I carefully spattered white paint over the gaps and blended. Luckily, I don’t think it worked out too badly?
