Silent Shadow

I also wanted to include something of the ‘Gestalt’ technique used previously in my ‘Midnight Feast’ study of a Chimpanzee. For those that don’t know, ‘Gestalt’ is a technique that uses shadow to give a sense of the unseen parts of a subject.

I’m very happy with the outcome here in Silent Shadow. I’m also happy with the dash of silver leaf applied at the LHS edge of the canvas. I think it adds textural contrast and lifts what’s otherwise an empty space.
