“Moonlight Hare” holds a cherished place among the collections of my discerning patrons. It resonates deeply with its evocative charm and distinctive aesthetic. Created during a period when Ann was immersed in her exploration of the enchanting world of ‘Purple Hares,’ it’s no surprise that the signature swirling textures of that series found their way into this piece.
However, what sets “Moonlight Hare” apart is its captivating palette. Predominantly composed of lush greens and serene blues, there are sporadic flashes of reds and oranges interspersed throughout. These lend an air of subdued reflection to the overall composition. Yet, amidst this restrained tonal palette, a striking element emerges: the dramatic ‘God-ray,’ piercing through the gloom to illuminate the hare’s head with a redemptive touch—a graceful flourish intended to infuse the piece with a sense of upliftment.
This juxtaposition of solemnity and grace imbues the artwork with a poignant allure, captivating the hearts of collectors who are drawn to its ethereal beauty and timeless appeal. With each viewing, “Moonlight Hare” continues to cast its enchanting spell, leaving an indelible impression on all who have the privilege of encountering its mesmerizing presence.
Our Fine-Art Prints come on two kinds of archival paper. For everything up to – and including – our ‘Medium’ size, we use 210GSM Fotospeed Smooth Art; a paper that offers exceptional contrast and detail. Because our larger, more prestigious prints need to be more impactful, we use Fotospeed’s 315GSM NST. Thanks to the gentle texture and bright-white base of this 100% cotton, fine art paper, it consequently delivers a wide colour gamut. The Fine Art Trade Guild have also certified these two papers. In conjunction with our pigment-rich inks, we therefore deliver a lifetime’s worth of enjoyment!
